The Wedding...

First comes love, then comes Marriage, then.. lets just pause it there!

So, as stated in my previous post, I'm currently in the process of planning my wedding! With the help of my mother of course, who by the way is a wedding-planning goddess or some shit, it's insane!

It was the morning of September the 26th that Robin and I announced we wanted to get married. To the confusion of my family as to why we aren't even engaged yet, we explained the same thing over and over: If we're to get married down Cornwall in June of next year, by the time Robin proposes to me in the way he wants to, it may not leave enough time to not only plan a whole wedding, but to give his family in Sweden (and Norway and Spain!) enough time to plan their travel over to the UK. It's one thing to pencil in a date, but it's another to take a whole week off work to hop on a plane and travel over to another country to celebrate a wedding!

Basically, we had the main things sorted within the first freaking month! You know, the venue, reception, bridesmaid dresses, MY dress, the guys suits.. It felt like my Mum was in her element!

I have my Maid of Honor, Emily, and my Bridesmaid, Charlotte. They were both super excited when I asked them to be in my wedding. So much so that Emily took me out dress shopping the next day!!

When It came to picking out my dress and finding my style.. I thought I knew what I wanted: Straps of some kind (halterneck, one shoulder etc) Empire waist blah blah.. but no. None of them looked quite right on me. I mean, they looked ok, but nothing hit it out of the ballpark, so to speak.

The next day, my mother takes me dress shopping and basically the second one I try on was THE ONE. This dress is gorgeous, and ironically, it's everything I said (I thought) would not look good on me. It's strapless, sort of A-line dress with a poofy bottom and layers and shit! It's stunning. Just in case my fiancĂ© sees this, I will refrain from posting any pictures for now :) Lets just hope he doesn't read it at least...

Now that it's only 11 weeks to go (as my MoH keeps reminding me, she's so freaking excited!) a lot of the planning has been done.. here's my checklist:

-Venue - Check - Carbis Bay Hotel, bitches!
-My dress - Check
-Suits - to be ordered in May
-Photographer - Check x2!
-Entertainment - Check - my brothers friend will be singing at the reception
-Dinner - Check - Fish & Chips! Awww yiiss
-Wedding day transport - My uncle's Rolls Royce!
-Hair and Makeup - Family is helping out
-Wedding Cake - Check
-Reception - Check - A ma-hoosive Marquee on Beachside!
-Reception decor (tables, chair covers, surroundings) - Check
-Guest list - Check
-Wedding theme - Check
-Wedding Rings - Check
-Flower Girls/Pageboy/Bridesmaids gifts - Check
-Marriage notice - Check
-Wedding favors - Check
-Booked Chalets for Family (both sides) and guests - Check

All that's left is finishing up what music we want at the Ceremony, what our first dance song is going to be, getting my shoes and what gifts to give our parents!

Since we're having everyone stay in Chalets on Beachside, and they are all staying for at least a week since the wedding is on a Wednesday (even the Swedes!), we thought we would do little Welcome Packages waiting for them on the table as they enter their new temporary home!
Aside from having their beds all made and ready for them and put some money in the electric meters so they can make a cuppa when they arrive, we're also added some extras!

The Welcome Packages contain:

Toilet roll / Washing up Liquid / T-towel / Dishcloth / A Yankie Candle / Breakfast stuff: Milk, bread, eggs, bacon, sausage, juice / Snack stuff: Salad, Ham, cheese / Coffee / Tea / Sugar / Chocolate (a cheeky little treat!) / A week plan (so everyone knows whats happening) / A Welcome note! / The wedding day Itinerary.

We think with all of this, it will help them all settle in and feel comfortable and welcome without having to worry about where the nearest convenience store is and how to get to it! This way, our family and guests can all relax and have an awesome week!

A little side note: I'm so lucky to have my wedding in Cornwall. It's basically a wedding holiday! Some girls only get 1 day.. I'm getting a whole freaking week!! *happy dance*
